Thanksgiving weekend flight down from SFO to John Wayne Airport, CA.
It was a beautifully clear and sunny day and I poached shots on takeoff and landing.
AVI is a 3 frame/second motion-JPEG.

yes, i used a normal teeny "point and shoot" digital camera (canon elph) and then vacuumed all the jpegs into a dir and have some software i've written that uses "mencoder" to turn them all into a "motion jpeg" video (where you can add an audio track, etc.)
i have some little tweaks to do "effects" like fade up and down, "hold" a frame for a longer period etc.
i recently got a new elph camera and they even have a decent builtin "time-lapse" feature where they take a picture every 1-2 seconds and make a "motion JPEG" AVI out of them...
hope that helps!
